Tenughat Court awarded life imprisonment to 10 people for lynching a person branding as child thief

Haider awarded life imprisonment to 10 persons who lynched a man
branding him child thief. The incident occurred at Narra village under
Chandrapura police station of the district on April, 4, 2017.

Chandrapura police station of the district on April, 4, 2017.
Those accused held guilty are- Kishore Dasundi, Chandan Dasaundi,
Kishore Kumar Baranwal, Chottu Koyri, Ramkumar Koyri, Manoj Turi,
Sagar Turi, Jitender Thakur, Sonu Turi and Jitender Rajak. They are
residents of Narra, said Sanjay Kumar Singh additional public
prosecutor (APP), Tenughat Court.

The mob attacked on the deceased Shamsuddin Ansari, when he had come
to his in-laws house in Narra on April, 3, 2017. He was a resident of
Mahuda, Dhanbad. The villagers including accused reached his in-laws
house in morning and alleged that he had made attempt to lift a child
in village.
Later branding Ansari a child thief, they thrashed him badly. However
then the police team reached the spot and tried to rescue Ansari, but
mob went berserk. Infuriated people vandalized police vehicle while
police had resorted light lathicharge to disperse the mob.
However police team managed to control the situation and took Ansari
to Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) from where he was referred to RIMS,
Ranchi. After battling for life for four days Ansari died in hospital,
said APP. The police had lodged named FIR against 11 persons in this
connection.

Court awarded life imprisonment to 10 accused while decision against
one is pending. “Court awarded life imprisonment to all the 10 accused
in under section 147, 148, 323, 324, 325, 452, 354(b), 302 read with
149 of IPC,” said APP.
