New York: दुनिया में कोरोना का कहर है. वहीं अमेरिका इस वैश्विक महामारी से सबसे ज्यादा प्रभावित है. अब अमेरिका में कोरोना के कारण एक कुत्ते की मौत होने का मामला सामने आया है. यह पहला पुष्ट मामला है, जिसमें किसी कोरोना पॉजिटिव कुत्ते की मौत हुई है.
बताया जा रहा है कि अमेरिका में कोविड-19 से पीड़ित ‘जर्मन शेफर्ड’ कुत्ते की मौत हो गई है. स्टेटन आइलैंड के रॉबर्ट और एलिसन माहनी ने ‘नेशनल जियोग्राफिक’ को बताया कि उनके सात साल के कुत्ते ‘बडी’ को अप्रैल माह के मध्य में सांस लेने में दिक्कत होने लगी थी और वह कई हफ्ते तक संक्रमण की चपेट में रहा.

मई में संक्रमित हुआ था कुत्ता
एक पशु चिकित्सक ने मई में बडी की जांच की जिसमें उसके कोरोना वायरस से संक्रमित होने की पुष्टि हुई. अमेरिका के कृषि विभाग ने जून में जानकारी दी थी कि न्यूयॉर्क में एक ‘जर्मन शेफर्ड’ देश में संक्रमित पाया जाने वाला पहला कुत्ते है. बडी की हालत और खराब होने पर 11 जुलाई को उसे दर्द रहित मौत दे दी गई.
बडी की खून की जांच में प्रतिरोधक प्रणाली के कैंसर का भी पता चला. यह स्पष्ट नहीं है कि उसकी मौत कोरोना वायरस के कारण ही हुई है या नहीं.
कृषि विभाग ने अमेरिका में कई पशुओं में कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण की पुष्टि की है. अब तक 12 कुत्ते, 10 बिल्लियां, एक बाघ तथा एक शेर कोविड-19 से पीड़ित पाए गए हैं. विभाग ने कहा कि पशुओं से कोरोना वायरस फैलने के प्रमाण नहीं मिले हैं लेकिन ऐसा लगता है कि कुछ परिस्थितियों में लोगों से यह संक्रमण पशुओं तक फैल सकता है.
