Ranchi: The fall in inflation, that was fallout of GST, shall soon be a thing of past. The rising prices of Petrol and Diesel would soon push the market to roll back the price fall in consumer goods.
The rise in the prices of crude oil and the weakness in Rupees against the US dollar have resulted in this price rise. The prices of petrol and diesel have reached its highest this time.
Meanwhile, the Indian Oil Corporation has listed the petrol and diesel prices in country. Jharkhand is the 20th costliest state in terms of buying petrol while for diesel it stands on the 10th spot.
The state, however, is the cheapest when compared to its neighboring states. Petrol in Patna would cost Rs.83.74, while that in Kolkata it costs Rs. 80.91 and in Raipur it would cost Rs. 78.64. Orissa is the only neighbor that would be selling cheaper petrol at Rs. 77. 42.
Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, BJP spokesperson, while taking to media claimed that such a price rise was normal. “During our rule, the price rise and fall are very common. If they have increased they would decrease too,” claimed Hussian.
Meanwhile the business community sees this price rise as an alarming situation. “The common masses have got some relief because of the tax reduction on selected consumer good due to introduction of gst. However, with such a rise in prices of fuel not only would the price reach the same spot but one must also expect 4-5% increase in inflammation,” claimed a businessman talking to NW.
