A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for posing as a Pakistani national and sending threatening email to industrialist Anil Ambani.
On January 15, Ambani received an email on his personal ID from an unknown person. The sender identified himself as Mukhtar from Pakistan. the email read " Tumhare paas bahut paisa hai, Taj ke badd tumhari baari hai hai".
After Ambani's representatives approached the Mumbai police, an offence was registered and the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) started investigating. Finally the origin was traced to a computer at a computer training institute at Dhanbad. They found that the email was sent by a teenager. Subsequently, he was arrested from his grandparents' house.
The boy allegedly told the police that he was disappointed by the failure of the government in meting out retaliatory action against Pakistan following the 26/11 terror strikes.
The teenager has been sent to the children's remand home till January 27.
