Integrated Action Plans for Jharkhand’ s 11 Districts

Ranchi : Planning Commission has initiated the process of preparing Integrated Action Plans (IAPs) for the 35 focus districts; including eleven of Jharkhand. The initiative will be to upgrade the infrastructure in these worst Naxal violence affected areas. Mr. Ajay Makan, the Central Minister of state for home affairs informed Rajya Sabha yesterday in response to a question from Jharkhand’s MP Mr. Parimal Nathwani.
The eleven districts of Jharkhand slated for infrastructure upgradation include Bokaro, Chatra, Garhwa, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Latehar, Lohardaga, East Singhbhum, Palamu and West Singhbhum. Remaining 24 districts include six from Bihar, seven from Chhattisgarh, two from Maharashtra, five from Orissa and one district each from Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
All these districts are worst affected by Naxal violence; and the central government is preparing the action plan with the help of respective state governments, district administration and the elected representative; the minister informed.
