| Jailed Maoist Vikas Thakur (In Red T-Shirt) played from forward and scored one goal from jail team side to draw the football match. Thakur was awarded Rs. 500 cash by Senior Superitendent of Police (SSP) Ranchi Praveen Kumar Singh for scoring the goal at Birsa Munda Central Jail in Hotwar near Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand state, on Saturday, July 24, 2010. A friendly football match between Ranchi police and prison inmates of Birsa Munda Central Jail was played. The jail inmates wore red jersey while the police team wore blue jersey. The score of the match remained 1-1 and both the teams were awarded by jail IG Vijay Kumar Singh, SSP Ranchi Praveen Kumar Singh and jail superintendent Deepak Vidyarthi. Picture : Mahadeo Sen. |
