Ranchi: Behind the bars for more than eight months, former CM and at present Lok Sabha member, Madhu Koda, spoke to certain selected media persons in Ranchi on Tuesday. The former CM was present at the Special Vigilance court in the alleged Rs.4000cr scam.
Coming out of the Vigilance court, Madhu Koda opened upto a select group of media personnel and reiterated his innocence. He openly challenged the IT AND ED personnel to produce proof against him for the various charges levelled against him. He appealed to the media also to restrain from printing/presenting un supported allegations. He advised the media to publish a report based only on facts and not on tall claims of the sleuths from both IT and ED.
He resented that even after being democratically elected to the Lok Sabha, he was unable to serve his constituency and look after the needs of the people.
Koda said that the life inside the jail was miserable. He alleged that none of the human rights specifications were followed. The quality of the food was un-printable leave aside even speak about it. The conditions of the jail inmates were pathetic, to state the least.
However a smiling, beaming Madhu Koda looked perfectly fit and healthy and was his usual cheerful self.
Madhu Koda blamed the State jail authorities and the Home department for flaunting the Jail Manual and demanded immediate remedial steps for improving the conditions inside the jail.
It may be recalled that the former CM is languishing in the Hotwar jail for the past eight months along with his ministerial colleagues in matter related to assets beyond income and money laundering charges.
The Vigilance Court again remanded both Madhu Koda and Kamlesh Singh to further 14 days judicial custody. Madhu Koda’s alleged accomplices Sanjay Chodhary and Binod Sinha are still out of reach of the IT, Vigilance and ED. Madhu Koda was exuding confidence as he spoke to the media.
