Pray For Rain

| Tribals and farmers lie with sticks outside the Shiva temple, as they wait for blessings from the main priest of the temple during the holy procession of "Manda Festival" in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand state on Thursday, May 27, 2010. The reason for this festival is perhaps to appease the sun and pray for rain during the hot and dry month. During this festival, processions are brought out from the premises of the temple of Hindu God Lord Shiva and taken to other villages. The believers walk on fire for good farming, for money good health and other things.
