No Substitute of CBI Probe : Jharkhand Opposition
Ranchi: Congress-JVM led opposition created uproarious scenes in the Assembly today. The legislators from these Parties even rushed to the well of the House after the Speaker C. P. Singh once again declined their demand for discussion on the matter relating to the CBI probe into the various scams.
The leader of opposition in the House Rajendra Singh and JVM’s Pradeep Yadav demanded that a CBI probe be initiated in the matters related to corruption and corrupt practices. They wanted the CBI to probe into the accumulation of assets by all those in power since the inception of the State.
For the first time ever, the opposition MLAs walked into the Assembly Hall brandishing placards and posters demanding the CBI probe. The Speaker had to summon the services of the Marshall to snatch the placards and posters from the agitating members. A Marshal was pressed into service for the first time in the Jharkhand Assembly.
JVM’s Samresh Singh in a fit of rage passed remarks on the Speaker itself, terming him as incapable for the post. The treasury Bench reacted vociferously and demanded stern action against the veteran opposition member. The matter however got resolved after JVM’s leader in the House, Pradeep Yadav apologised on Samresh’s behalf and later Samresh Singh too apologised.
The Speaker warned Samresh Singh that he would not be allowed to rush to the well of the House on his whim. He also cautioned the opposition to exercise their rights in the House justifiably and not stall the proceedings as a daily routine.
