Ranchi: The terror of coal belt and notorious gangster was shot dead by unknown criminals while being brought to Ranchi from the Dumka Jail under police custody. Pandey was scheduled to appear in a court in Ranchi in a matter related to Arms smuggling. Surprisingly Rs.10,100 was recovered from Bhola Pandey’s pockets.

The police van halted at a highway dhaba enroute at Mihijam in Jamtara to enable Pandey to ease himself at the backyard of the Khalsa Dhaba. Four assailants on motor cycles came to the spot and started firing indiscriminately killing Bhola Pandey instantaneously. He received seven bullet wounds. Though the escorting policemen also fired around twenty rounds in retaliation but it proved futile as the assailants managed to escape. The notorious Sushil Srivastava gang has claimed responsibility for the killings saying that it was a revenge long overdue.
