Police On The Alert In Wake Of Maoist Bandh
Ranchi: The police has put all its pickets on high alert at the sensitive places and highways in wake of the three day bandh call given by the Maoists. The bandh is to commence from Saturday midnight and last till Tuesday midnight.
Giving the call for the bandh in the four States of Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa and W. Bengal, Maoist Polit bureau member Koteswar Rao alias Kishanjee said that the bandh was in protest against the preparations to launch the offensive against the Maoists in all the four States. It may be recalled that Home minister P. Chidambaram has convened a meeting of CMs of these States at Kolkata on 9th of this month for finalizing the action plan for the said offensive.
