Shibu Nominates Son Hemant As Successor To The JMM Throne
Ranchi/Dumka: Laying to rest all the speculations and controversies Shibu Soren named his son Hemant Soren as his successor. Addressing a huge mid night rally at Dumka Guruji announced Hemant’s name saying that as his elder son had met with untimely death, the younger son Hemant will shoulder the responsibility of JMM. Hemant has resigned as Rajya Sabha MP after being elected as legislator from Dumka. He played a vital role in the formation of the current alliance with BJP & AJSU in the State.
The Dumka rally was organized to mark the 31st Jharkhand Day and attended by thousands of Party workers, all the JMM ministers and most of the senior leaders. The Working Committee of JMM is meeting in Dhanbad on Thursday.
Addressing the Dumka rally the JMM Legislator from Borio, Lobin Hembrom urged the CM as well as the ally partners to ensure that the present government completed its full term. He advised the Party’s MLSs to lend their positive support. He added that the people of Santhal Parganas had great expectations from JMM and the Party should ensure that the development process and welfare of the rural folk are carried forward with sincerity. He stressed on the importance of chalking out a common minimum program as BJP & AJSU were also part of the new government. This would ensure transparent functioning of the government, he added.
Leaders Sudhir Mahto, Hemlal Murmu, Simon Marandi, Nalin Soren and Haji Hussain Ansari echoed the words of Hembrom and said that hereafter JMM will emerge as the strongest Party in the State. The new government, they opined that, should concentrate on rural development, education and health sectors. Our internal unity has to be impeccable added the leaders. Dulal Buiyan, however was slightly critical of the slow pace with which the development work was progressing and urged the CM to ensure speedy process. He also requested the CM to address to the problems of tribals in bordering Orissa and West Bengal as they were being openly exploited.
This is the first rally in Dumka by Shibu after taking charge as CM. The entire Dumka was strewn with security personnel to ensure peaceful completion of the rally. The rally continued till the wee hours of Wednesday. The meeting concluded with the oath that JMM would ensure corrupt free and fearless governance to the people of the State.
