No Importance To Independents This Time
All the eight independent candidates elected this time were seen eager to offer their support but there seemed to be no takers this time. Bandhu Tirkey gave his support letter to JMM even before it was sought and Chamra Linda followed suit.
Though in jail, both Enos Ekka and Hari Narain Rai sent their emissaries to both Congress and JMM but the effort turned to be futile. The youngest MLA this time, former CM Madhu Koda’s wife Geeta Koda expressed her keenness to be part of ‘active’ politics but nobody even approached her. RJD rebel Bidesh Singh was keen on supporting JMM but again he was not approached. For the first time since the formation of the State, there will be no independents dictating the government.
